Privacy

The Polish Historical Institute in Australia practises the National Privacy Principles relating to personal information (extracted from the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000). For further information see http://www.privacy.gov.au/.

Information service

As the Polish Historical Institute in Australia has limited resources - being a small volunteer-based organisation - it can only provide a limited information service for researchers, historians and writers requesting information on the history of Polish immigration to Australia. The quality, quantity and turn around time of the service will depend on internal factors within the Institute at the time the request is made. The Institute will endeavour to provide accurate information subject to these conditions.

To the other members of the public who may require information, the Polish Historical Institute in Australia will evaluate the request for information on a case by case basis, always reserving the right to refuse. This refusal will be based on internal factors relating to the Institute at the time the request is made.

Referral service

The Polish Historical Institute in Australia is not a referral service as it does not have the resources, contacts and networks. However in the course of providing some form of information service (see above), it may refer, where this might affect the quality of the information being provided, again subject to right of refusal, and based on internal factors relating to the Institute at the time the request is made.

Immigration service

The Polish Historical Institute in Australia does not provide any service relating to migration of Poles to Australia. Nor does it provide any information about migration, citizenship or other similar issues affecting the Polish community in Australia. Nor does the Institute have any formal links with either federal, state or territory Australian governments relating to the same. Enquiries concerning migration to Australia should be directed to the Australian Department of Immigration, Multicultural Affairs.
